Welcome to the jGBM Heidelberg!
Our city group – a growing network of dedicated young scientists
The jGBM Heidelberg was founded by Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD students attending the Universität Heidelberg and surrounding institutes. Our goal is to create a network for students and young scientists that helps make the transition into professional life easier and supports personal and academic growth.
We organise events that encourage exchange between young researchers in and around Heidelberg. These will include talks, workshops, and excursions to research institutes or industry partners, providing insights into both academic and non-academic career paths. We also aim to strengthen nationwide connections by collaborating with other jGBM city groups across Germany. All information about our activities can be found on our instagram (@jgbm_heidelberg)!
Alongside our scientific activities, we also value the social side of things. Whether you have questions about your studies, need advice, or simply want to meet like-minded people, we’re here to support you.
As our group is always developing and seeking to expand, we are excited to welcome motivated students from the life sciences and related fields who would like to help shape this community. Hi! We’re Rebecca, Maria and Mari Lena 🙂 – the spokesperson team of the jGBM Heidelberg.
Together, we coordinate our city group’s activities, support new ideas, and help bring students from different institutes and backgrounds together. As a team, we work to create a welcoming and virbrant space where young scientists can exchange experiences, discover opportunities, and grow both academically and personally.
We’re passionate about building a community that feels open, supportive, and inspiring: whether that means organising events, connecting members, or simply being a point of contact for anyone curious about joining – We’re always here to help.
